- The Library of the Philosophy Department at Birkbeck is named after Ruby Meager (1916-92), who was a member of staff at Birkbeck for many years (1967-81) and who donated many of her own books to the department, now in the collection. For further information see the obituary by Eva Schaper in the British Journal of Aesthetics 32 (1992), 293-4.
