Collaborative work
Dear friends;
The group creator is a technical person and interested mainly in what LibraryThing can do in a **collaborative work** on different authors, areas of interest, diffeerent other topics etc.:
a) identifying the works and books in as many languages as possible;
b) combining works and providing correct details wherever possible;
c) adding as much details about the authors as possible;
d) correct UTF-8 presentation of all details;
e) correct BiDirectional presentation if applicable;
f) meaningfull tagging;
g) fault finding; error reporting, improuvements etc.
h) listening to ideas from group contributors;
reason for this group: For newbies it is not easy to identify what booksource to use to import the datas. This is why many works / books do not contain ISBN numbers, classifications etc.
Depending on the number of active group members one should focus on two or three autors etc. each week.
One should elaborate if this group can become an interproject (LibraryThing, WikiMedia projects, Facebook etc.) group.
a) It should be possible to add systematically ISBN, LCCN, OCLC etc. references to Wikipedia etc. pages.
b) one could attract more people to WikiThing
c) one could recruit interested people from the large facebook community
Hoping for success of this group.
