This was a new author and a new series for me. The murder mystery investigation was important, but readers also become involved in Laura's fight against the town's politicians regarding the new development...and we learn quickly that Laura is a formidable woman! In fact, readers will enjoy meeting the whole family and will begin to look forward to meeting them again in the series. The ending was a surprise and was handled quite effectively even though it involved an unexpected turn. I know that I want to continue the series...or at least give one more a book a try to see if it continues to intrigue me. I really liked the small-town setting...the people...and the writing style that's been presented here.… (mais)
Right from the start this book grab my attention and I didn't want to put the book down until I was done with it. I love all the suspense in this book and it was also a nice change to read a book where it isn't super graphic like some of the other books I have read are. I can't wait to read more books by this author.
This the 2nd book in the series and once again I couldn't put it down. She has made her characters so real that I am sad that there is only one more book after this one. She writes in a way that makes my want to keep reading because I have to know how it ends. This is a great book and I know if you like mysteries that you will love this one!
