The book is a tribute to the Charlie Company that fought to the last man at Rezang La in 1962.
When I visited Jaswant Garh and Bum La early in April 2023, I realized how little we know about our old wars and how much we owe our defence forces.

This book is a worthy tribute to Maj Shaitan Singh and the soldiers of the Charlie Company.

I only wish Kuldeep Yadav was a better writer.

Book Title: The Last Love Letter
Author: Kulpreet Yadav
Format: Kindle

Book Title:
The title of the book ‘ The Last Love Letter ‘ is emotional and interesting

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book is a picture of a woman in a red attire reading a letter. This suits the title correctly.

About the author:
An ex-armed forces officer, KULPREET YADAV is an author of seven books, two e-books, and one collection of short stories. Shortlisted for prestigious writing awards and winner of the prize ‘Best Fiction Writer, 2018’ at the Gurgaon Literature Festival, Kulpreet lives in Delhi.

About the book:
Akash is devastated when his wife Nisha dies of cancer, leaving him all alone to raise their four-year-old daughter, Sara. He finds it impossible to deal with the void in his life, and coping with the demands of being a single parent makes the situation worse. The crisis affects his professional life as well, which, too, takes an unexpected turn.
Subah is a painter who started hating men ever since she was dumped by her boyfriend for another woman. She runs an NGO that helps women whose lives have been ruined by abusive men. When Akash meets Subah their lives change forever, but Akash is ridden with guilt as he finds himself getting closer to Subah. Can he be in love with two women at the same time? The Last Love Letter explores the contours of broken relationships and the meaning of commitment in modern India. The book discovers that love is neither about control nor surrender but a blessing that can only be experienced by listening to the heart.

My review:
It is the story about a widower, Akash, Nisha’s husband who lost her life to cancer leaving behind a four-year-old kid, Sara. This story is about Subah, an artist and a social worker who looks after the welfare of women who are the victims of abuse in relationships. And for the obvious reason, she is intolerant towards men. One last letter from Nisha to Akash brings changes in his and Subah’s life. How did Akash meet Subah? How did the letter help them in strengthening their friendship? Did it stay as a mere friendship or have bloomed into anything else? is what is the story.

With all the emotions, a good line of the story, Author Kulpreet has weaved a nice emotional story.

What I like:
1. The portrayal of emotions is done extensively
2. The emotional quotient both in happy and sad times is maintained well
3. The relationships their importance and unconditional love is illustrated well
4. Though sounds cliché, the treatment of the story is well done
5. The issues like domestic violence, women and their role in the society, etc., are dealt good

What I didn’t like:
1. In some places, there was forced emotional drama
2. It is a good story but not a great one as I have read other works by the author I have expected a little more.

Characters:
All the characters are plotted well.

Narration:
A good narration with lots of emotional layers is found in the story.

Language & Grammar:
Simple and good language with grammar is used in the book.

My Final Verdict:
An onetime readable emotional story

Book Title: The Darjeeling Ghost
Author: Kulpreet Yadav
Format: Kindle

Book Title:
The title of the book ' The Darjeeling Ghost ' is mysterious and scary.

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book is a picture of an abandoned car. The Black and white image gives an eerie feeling. The title and the cover match with each other, but why a car is present in the cover image is mysterious.

My review:
This is my probably 5th book from Author Kulpreet Yadav, and I am always fascinated by his writing skills. In this book, he has unveiled another layer in his writing style. The thriller element in the story is the brainchild, and he has excelled in presenting it.

What I like:
1. The plot
2. The emotional quotient
3. The mystery part of the story
4. The conversations and the approach.

What I didn't like:
There is nothing to be disliked. It is a short and exciting story, as said.

Characters:
The story has three central characters. Rhea and Rocky are married to each other, and Ana is the character which makes the story turn a large U. All the primary and other characters have been given equal space and strength in the story.

Narration:
The story has an interesting and engaging narration. The mystery and the horror element in the story are well maintained and retained till the end. Author Kulpreet has done a great a work in this book like always.

Book Title: The title of the book is ‘In Love with Simran’ is simple and clear that the story is a love story.

Book Cover:
The cover of the book is a beautiful picture of a boy and a girl sitting closely in the meadow.

Plot:
Simran and Nik Sethi are the loving couples of this story. One day his girlfriend Simran is found dead. Sanjana is her best friend and the protagonist of this story. Nik is a business tycoon and is the major suspect. In order to find the truth and to prove that he is guilty, she plays a game of coming close to him romantically. What I like:
1. The mysterious plot and the storyline are good.
2. Simple language made the story an easy read

What I didn’t like:
1. The story could have been more enthusiastic and the characterization should be strong.
2. Unlike the author's other book which is also a murder mystery, this story at some places falls flat.

Characters:
All the characters have been plotted well.

Narration:
The narration of the story is good but was a little disappointing compared to the author's previous book's narration.

A clear language with neat and uncomplicated grammar is used in the book
