Overall good story. What really bothered me was how Mick treated her like a little child. She's 25 for goodness sake. Living on her own and taking care of herself. I'm all for playing that game in the bedroom, but if my DH treated me like that in everyday life we wouldn't have lasted the 22 yrs we have. Oh and he is twice my age (20 yrs between us).

Ana is a barmaid who wants a better life as a painter. In the interim she’s learning how to cook from a friend hoping that she’ll get promoted to cook and more money.
She meets Kane, a Native American from a nearby reservation, while serving drinks for a crew of guys helping a family by rebuilding their barn. My first impression of Ana was of a mousy little girl with little confidence.
The stuttering was annoying. The writing seemed juvenile. When Kane said he was thirty I was shocked. I knew they were supposed to be adults, but came across as teenagers in some of their conversations.
I couldn’t finish it, made it little more than 50% before I had to put it down.(which is why there isn't a star rating.)
