Barbara Winslow is professor and historian in the School of Education and Women's Studies Program at Brooklyn College. She is the founder and project director of the Shirley Chisholm Project of Brooklyn Women's Activism, a digital repository of information about Chisholm and women's activism in mostrar mais Brooklyn. Carol Berkin is a well-known women's historian and she is the author of many popular and scholarly books, including Civil War Wives. I think the story reasonably conveyed the Eskimo tradition of naming a baby after a deceased relative. It also reasonably conveyed an Eskimo girl's first dance. I still didn't think it was the best though. I would maybe use this story in a school curriculum to illustrate the differing customs of other cultures.
