Good sports book. Would have liked a bit more drama and conflict. Cool that the ex-wife wasn't portrayed as a giant pain in the butt. Stoked about the next one.

Okay but not ultimately memorable. It lacked a certain zing I guess. The story was fairly well developed as were the characters but that was about it. There were certain times where I felt like the time line was wonky. For example: the guys went to a gym. It seemed like later that day or the next one the hero and heroine meet. Then they've been going to the gym for 10 weeks but no, it's the day after the hero and heroine meet. What?

That wasn't a huge problem. The bigger problem was that I didn't really feel the attraction between the two. Not sure why they loved each other. I did like the hockey elements though and the marriage proposal was a good one.

Might try more in the series to see how it develops.

This review/rating is just for the 3 m/m romance stories.

A Star-Crossed Christmas by V.L. Locey
Very sweet story of second chances and taking a childhood friendship to another level. I've not read the series this book is attached to but it had no impact on my enjoyment.

Dallas Christmas by RJ Scott - Lovely second chance romance. This one made me tear up at times.

Holding On Tight by Susan Scott Shelley - Established couple celebrating their first Christmas together and everything goes wrong. No need to have read their previous story (although I'm curious enough to consider picking it up). Slightly angsty with a HEA.

I had a fantastic time with this romance! It’s no secret that I have been a fan of the books that I have read that are set in the world of True North so I was eager to give this newest offering a try. Once I started listening, I was hooked and I couldn’t wait to see how things would work out for Indi and Hudson. This was the first time that I have read Kate Willoughby’s writing and I had a great time with it.

Indi and Hudson are both college students. Indi is pre-med and is incredibly serious about school. Hudson is one of the school’s star hockey players and is part of a family that has had professional hockey players in every generation. The pressure is on for both of these characters. They both end up in the same photography class and as partners on a class project. These two have fantastic chemistry with each other from the start and it seems to grow stronger each time they are anywhere near each other.

I really liked Indi and Hudson as a couple. I think that they had a lot in common and seemed to be very good for each other. I really enjoyed watching them grow closer as the story progressed. Indi did have a couple of secrets but I understood why she was hesitant to share them with Hudson right away. Both characters have some pretty big issues to deal with and challenges to overcome which helped them to see how important they were to each other.

Joe Arden and Victoria Mei did a fantastic job with the narration of this book. I think that both narrators were able to bring the characters to life and added a lot of emotion to the story. I thought that their voices really complimented each other. This was an audiobook that I wanted to listen to for hours at a time and the narrator added a lot to my overall enjoyment.

I would recommend this book to others. This was a wonderful romance with fantastic characters facing some pretty big challenges. I had a great time watching this pair move towards their happily ever after. I cannot wait to read more books in this series!

I received an audiobook ARC of this book from the publicist/author.
