This was an interesting book. As I mentioned above, I do have some knowledge of the time period due to my religious studies, I won’t go into that anymore. It tells the story of two women, at a time when the oppression of women was beginning to be believed to be approved of by God. Signified by the fact that Glenys was considered a sorceress for using herbs to treat her patients and yet men were allowed to ‘practice medicine’ even with no medical knowledge or training. Hypatia is no longer allowed to teach, that is something for men alone. The book follows their trials and how they manage to survive, their eventual meeting and …. no spoilers, to find out what happens to them you will have to read the book.

The character development was good, I developed feeling, good and bad for the people in this story. As far as I could tell it was historically accurate, the details I was not familiar with fit in with the rest of the account. I would recommend this book.

Review:

"The Fourth Conspirator" by Barry S. Willdorf was a very interesting trilogy read that only this author can give its reader. You will be taken in many different directions that this author gives us a action packed read. "The Fourth Conspirator" will explores not only the relationship but also their personal history of both of this family that will be of the 'Spanish Inquisition...as we find Christina telling us a story and what a story it is. Nate Lewis(Christina's husband) is a attorney who is representing a man who has shot and killed a person who was stealing his marijuana garden. Now, what will be instore for Nate in building this defense case? Be ready for many twist and turns that will come in the discovery of a California wine making relatives in California...and we find Christina...is wanting to get pregnant, for her mothers sake? What was the big secret about them being Catholic? In the read we find that Christina has taken over public relations for their cousins 'Medocino winery' and is now pregnant. Does Christina have her hands full due to the fact that we find out that her father has ....well I will stop here and if you are still wondering about what this read is all about....this is the part that I say you must pick up "The Fourth Conspirator" to see the what, how, when and where to it all as this author brings us such a intriguing read. This will be one of those reads that you will not put down until the end due to the fact that you are kept wanting to see what will go on next because there will be some surprises.

"The Fourth Conspirator" was a novel not just about murder, a winery but a couple having some issues such as trust, honesty and truth that only they could come to terms with. Would I recommend "The Fourth Conspirator?"...YES!

Review:

"A Shot in the Arm" by Barry Willdorf was really a good read. It kept me on the edge of my seat through most of the read. Indeed you can tell that Mr. Willdorf that he had some lawyer background due to all details that he gave us on this great ride. "Shot in the Arm" was a story of how a lawyer (Nathan Lewis) from San Francisco trying to do what was right had many obstacles put in his way.
Nate (who was a lawyer) had taken a case involving Umoja Simama, a Black Militant charged with homicide in Marin County. Nate's
girlfriend Christina did not want him to take cases such as these because they were involved the drug dealer, dirty money, and the Mob. Christina just wanted to finish her education, get a good job and get married. Would she ever get this? Nate wanted to get his name out there so he could have it all...good job and Christina...who was the love of his life. I really liked the way Mr Wildorf presented the characters because they really made the novel ... to name a few:
Nate, Christina, Diz, Umoja(Amos Decker), Joan Deering, Moe Weiner, Willie Jackson, Sheila Mc Givern(Susan Bass)Inspector Hudson, Oso Pardo, Mato, Tiny Tim, Alex Estrada, Waseme, Connie Hawkins, Hamid, Samira, Aaron Carter, Jim Davis, Granma Carter, and Steve Bass. I am sure I left out some....You will just have to read and find out who for yourself! The question is how will Nate and Christiana be able to solve there problems.... maybe by "Negotiation?" And with the negotiation would Nate and Christina finally have the life they wanted?
"A Shot in the Arm" was really interesting and surprising in how this novel played out. I loved it! It was well written and I would definitely recommend "Shot in the Arm" as a good read.
