NCLA Review - Christian philosopher Robert Wennberg explores the times of doubts that most believers will experience in their faith walk through life. Using examples and insights from well-known Christians such as C.S. Lewis, Martin Marty, Saint John of the Cross, Mother Teresa as well as his own experiences, Wennberg offers understanding of our doubts and help in using them to grow spiritually. He stresses that we should see ourselves as believers who are tempted to doubt and not as doubters who are tempted to believe. Going to church, reaching out to others in need in the name of Christ, praying and reading the Bible are all aids in dealing with times of doubt. Each chapter of this provocative and insightful book contains questions for reflection that could be used individually or in a group setting. Rating: 4 —AL… (mais)
