The central thesis of this book is that workers need to be informed about their companies and should be organized (ie, unionized) to fight the "race to the bottom," which is illustrated by her three examples of plant closings in Tennessee. It's difficult to agree with that when even Weinbaum categories two of those closings as "successful failures," those that still resulted in jobs lost and industries moving overseas.
