Slim book on the development and use of steam power on canals. "Canals" are treated broadly and include any inland waterways, such as narrowboat canals, broader canals and rivers, tourist steamers on lakes and lochs and even the Scottish coastal puffers.

Production quality is looking a litte dated as the many photos are cramped and some have labels from some detail in the background which might be visible on the plate negative, but not in this book.

Fascinating book. COL Daniels diary is interesting to beign with, but Weaver expertly and deftly works much of the contextual material of the times.
