The Up Close & Personal Series is a collection of books centering around a certain theme, an ongoing message of penitence, grace, and judgement.

One man endowed with the gift of foresight, seeks to alter the path of calamity he envisioned about his friends. He now races against time, doubt, disbelief, and unseen forces of opposition.

He ventures out in faith hoping......time doesn't escape before the impending door of eternity opens.

Ware is quite direct is conveying that there are consequences for your choices whether good or bad in Caveat of Penitent. Saturated with Biblical fire and brimstone warnings and scriptural references Caveat of Penitent barely leaves enough room for an actual plot. What can’t be denied is that Ware is passionate about this subject matter.

Joey and Thomas Johnson are brothers living at home with their mom who is often trying to coax them to attend church with her. When Joey is a victim of an assault and robbery he begins to consider his mother’s requests. Joey befriends a church member, Max, who he proposes questions about hell that Max always manage to avoid answering. Joey’s questions and Max’s avoidance all proves to be apart of a divine plan and warning to their family and friends.

The numerous undeveloped characters and abrupt time shifts in this short novel made it a difficult, frustrating read. There was one instance when the same narrative was repeated three times by different characters. The message Ware attempted to present is needed and very serious but his delivery was lacking.
