Dixie Dean must have been the greatest striker in English football: an example, page 73, against Portsmouth in the 1927/28 season - 'Dean, reading the offside methods exploited by his opponents, fell back to a position behind the half-way line, and although very closely watched, his speed and skill enabled him to race through and score three times. His genius for reading a game of football was becoming more and more appreciated'. This issue has been signed by Dixie Dean well after his playing days - Dean died in 1980.… (mais)
