Riwenne is always with Nexita, but as the only one between the two to become a priestess novice, Riwenne's got to spend her days without Nexita. But, she is never on her own and she has new friends within the programme while finding a way to tackle the mechanical beasts. The writing is young and the world-building is visually pleasant.

Adorable cat filled short story.

So many cat references, a great job of describing the cats, and writing their personalities to be very cat like, with light human traits. The story did feel rushed, a lot of build up was missed in moving it along. I'd love it to be flushed out into a full novel with more of a plot, and build up to the ending. More information on the Merkitties, and the land cats, maybe more world history etc. But otherwise, a fun, quick read for cat lovers.

This review was written for LibraryThing Members Giveaways.

This book is about the trial that Glen faces to become a Knight. Being related to Count Duncan, it is decided that the criteria for his test be altered so that he may prove he is worthy to be knighted and eventually take over for his grandfather. This book also reveals the infiltration of the Unseelie and the attempts to sabotage the Seelie Court.
