Originally published in French as Mika l'ourson a peur du noir, and made available in this English version by the original publisher, Editions Auzou, this is a sweet little addition to the body of stories meant to offer reassurance to frightened young children at bedtime. The text is fairly engaging, but it is Nicolas Duffaut's artwork that really stands out in Mika the Bear Is Afraid of the Dark. I liked his use of color and shape, and thought the overall effect was both cute and striking. Recommended to anyone looking for new bedtime reassurance stories.… (mais)
