Fascinating if dated book about ancient time periods, from the conquest of Rome and before. I was able to read the book quickly because it is pitched to perhaps a 9th grade reading level. Still and all I wish I had read it before going to college. I was a history major and would have given some of the material a broad context.

I actually picked it up to read because it was given to me as a holiday gift about 48 years ago and I promised my (late) mother I would read it. Which I did, eventually.… (mais)
