The heartrending true life depiction of a girl that no one loved or wanted. Her mother was negligent at best, and abusive at worst, ultimately giving her girls away to the system. Dorie was in one abusive adoptive home after another, and tells how it feels. She ultimately reunites with her bio dad who turns out to be just as evil as the rest of the people in her life, but I love that Dorie's story doesn't end in desolation.

Wow the sweet things you find in the trash heep. Someone was tossing a box of books and I rescued this one. I am so glad I did. It is the story of Doris Van Stone. She grew up in California in what can only be decribed as shocking conditions. I won't give away too much of the story for you.....but it is truely a story worth reading. Her story shows how gracious God is to all who call upon the name of His son Jesus!

With the rise of illegitimate births, the increase in divorce statistics, and the frightening escalation of child abuse, this story stands as a reminder that God's love, forgiveness and grace are greater that human hurt and sorrow.… (mais)
