Phil Trupp

The only book I found that dealt with the demise of the Auction-Rate Preferred market. I was involved with the record keeping of these securities at my former company. We are lucky we got out of this market when we did. I learned things from this book that I was definitely not aware of when we were investing in them, but I didn't care for Phil's rather enthusiastic sense of writing. It was too sensationalist for me. I know he got hurt himself in this market and this was deeply personal for him. Still, I would rather have had a more objective book with a few more details in it, especially from an institutional point of view. However, I'm glad he wrote about it because I can't seem to find much else (other then the Internet) that talks about this fallen market.… (mais)
