Iza Trapani

Come join us as we welcome one of our favorite children's book authors ever! Iza Trapani will be with us to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her book The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and the publication of her new book, Little Miss Muffet. Iza Trapani was born in Poland and moved to the US at age seven. Her relatives gave her a large Mother Goose Treasury, and she began learning English through those rhymes. Little did she know that someday her dream would come true and she would become a children’s book author and illustrator.

Iza’s best selling, award winning series of nursery rhyme extensions, including The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Shoo Fly and Row, Row Row Your Boat, are widely used in schools and libraries across the U.S. and abroad. Little Miss Muffet is her 24th picture book.

Forget lions and tigers. Bears are the kings of the forest in our book, whether they're of the Grizzly, Brown, or Teddy persuasion. It's true that they scare us a little (and we should probably keep our distance), but we just wish we could cuddle up with one and eat blueberries all day long. Iza Trapani is a bestselling children’s book author and illustrator known for her popular extensions of nursery rhymes. Her retelling of The Itsy Bitsy Spider has sold over a million copies and all her books are widely used in schools in the United States and abroad. Among her awards are the IRA/CBC Children’s Choices, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Book Awards, ABA Pick of the Lists, and Bank Street College of Education Best Books. When she’s not in her studio, Iza likes to spend time outdoors and has gone over many mountains to see what she could see. She lives in Woodstock, New York.
