Alessandro Tomei

Alessandro Tomei studied art history in Rome and Paris and is currently professor of medieval art history at the University of Chieti-Pescara. His main research interests are painting and miniature in Italy between the thirteenth and fourteenth century and the applied arts of the Middle Ages. He is the author of numerous essays and monographs on artists such as Pietro Cavallini, Giotto, Cimabue, Jacopo Torriti. He is the editor of the international journal of critical "Medieval Art" and a member of the Scientific Committee of the magazine "Art and Dossier." He edited the scientific project of numerous exhibitions, including "Fragmenta picta. Detached frescoes and mosaics of the Roman Middle Ages" (Rome Castel Sant'Angelo, 1989) and "The Biccherne of Siena. Arts dawn of modern economics and finance "(Rome, Palazzo del Quirinale, 2002).
