Description: For June's meeting we will discuss the works Robert A. F. Thurman. Thurman is professor of Buddhist Studies at Columbia University, and co-founder of Tibet House in New York. We have a number of works he has translated, as well as some of his teachings and DVDs. Many are also available at the Eugene Public Library:

Robert Thurman has dedicated his life to the study and preservation of Tibet's spiritual and cultural heritage. He is the cofounder of Tibet House US, the Jey Tsong Khapa Professor of Buddhist Studies at Columbia University, the translator and author of several key works of Tibetan literature and analysis, and the first American to be ordained as a Tibetan monk. All this along with his forty-five-year friendship with the Dalai Lama makes him a strong voice for Tibet.
