This was better than the other book in the series I had read previously. There is always SO much going on in these books. Lots of characters to try and keep track of and straight in your head. Multiple cases at one time, everyone is somehow a suspect even though it's a small town.
All in all, a very quick read. If you like cozy mysteries with a little extra mystery going on, then you'll probably like this.

Where to start...this is the fifth book in a series and I'm not really sure how there got to be a series. The writing is disjointed, it doesn't flow evenly. In some places, there wasn't even a transition from a topic in one paragraph to a different topic in the next paragraph.
The main character had multiple different cases going at one time so the story was all over the place. The murder that was in the description on the back of the book was the least important case that she was working on. There wasn't a ton of character development, I didn't care about any of them at all. Maybe if I had started with book one it would be different?
The multiple storylines/cases were kind of related to each other in a roundabout way. There were some surprises but not really anything major or shocking.
I don't know what else to say. All in all, I would say to skip this book/series. If you really want to read it, I would suggest starting with book one. It was a quick read but not a page-turning suspenseful one. There's not really a lot of mystery or meat to the story.… (mais)

If you are expecting another formula mystery with predictable characters, look elsewhere! This one certainly has several mysteries, plot twists, red herrings, the good guys and villains, but it has verbal and situational humor combined with fun characters and dysfunctional psychics and is narrated by the PI who tries to make sense of all the goings on. The publisher's blurb is better than most and give a lot of information, but the book certainly exceeds the blurb! NO HOT BEVERAGE WHILE READING THIS ONE! Guffaws and laughing out loud frequently could cause some messy situations. Just thinking about the scene where the snake averse psychic has two boas in the backyard talking to him asking permission to climb trees has me giggling and snurfling!

[b: Baby, Take a Bow|31804946|Baby, Take a Bow|Jane Tesh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1481048095s/31804946.jpg|52460564] has psychics, psychos, decent folks and a few rednecks. A suburban Animal House of relationships which work, despite all odds.
I am glad that I continued to read on because this is an enjoyable, unique and interesting novel. Toward the end [a: Jane Tesh|350628|Jane Tesh|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1314989148p2/350628.jpg] calms the calamity and finishes with a gentle ending.
The writing is pure art. I recommend this book for the voracious reader looking for entertainment that breaks the mold.… (mais)
