Linda Tatelbaum

A very odd little book; American graduate student goes to 1968-ish Paris still fomenting with the after effects of the student riots. However, the American is actually caught up in much older events as she tries to decipher whether a manuscript she accidently discovers in an obscure archive was actually penned by the famous Pierre Abelard. Half the time the book takes place in her mind, which leaves the reader totally confused about what is happening. In the end, I didn't care. Too bad because the premise of the book was intriguing but in the end the author just didn't pull it together.… (mais)
