Pedantic. Advocates and teaches the traditional 19th-century style of drawing and painting, i.e. the creation of the illusion of three-dimensional reality on a two dimensional surface. Since this style has become fashionable once more, this book is relevant to the student. Solomon has some interesting ideas about the way to approach drawing.
