- Elizabeth A. T. Smith was James W. Alsdorf Chief Curator and Deputy Director for programs at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. Formerly she was curator at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles where she organized the exhibition "Blueprints for Modern Living: History and Legacy of the Case Study Houses." Smith has taught at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and has published and lectured widely on a variety of topics in contemporary art and architecture.

Das Buch bist recht günstig zu bekommen, das ist gut, denn der Inhalt ist doch minimalistisch. Pro Haus maximal drei Seiten... nicht, dass die Häuser heutzutage noch so passend wären. Oder gar für Österreichs Klima
A reasonable little introduction. It seemed to me that the photography could have been updated in many cases. The book would be greatly improved if the photography could have reflected the major design features discussed in the text.
