3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I enjoyed these books, all interrelated. Although I'm a fan of romance novels, several of the tropes used were too similar, making very fast happily ever afters, so many of them all at once, a bit hard to chew. My favorite would have been the very first one, Ms. Curtis's story well written and well edited. The others were also well written, but might have benefited from a sharper pen. Minor issues, and yet noticeable.

Light hearted seasonal fluff, and I really did enjoy them overall.… (mais)

Paternity fraud is a human rights violation. Keeping it from a man that he is a father-that is a human rights violation. You can not turn a human rights violation into a squishy, cozy romance.

Also, the identity politics beats you over the head for the entire book. I am not a feminist. However, unfortunately, I know that because feminism is mainstream I usually have to deal with some amount of it in a book. This was feminism punching me in the face every single chapter. Not just feminism-intersectional feminism. This book jerks off hard to BLM. BLM is a terrorist Marxist organization that hides behind the guise of antiracism to terrify citizens and push for far-left legislation. Antiracism should be bipartisan, but BLM has made sure that it isn't. I do not support BLM and I do not support feminism, so it was impossible for me to enjoy this ham-fisted, beating you over the head with an agenda "cozy" romance.

One of the primary reasons that I do not support feminism is because modern feminists are hung up on such silly, trivial stuff, while ignoring actual human rights violations men deal with.

And the MC, Zuri, is a prime example of this. She's getting all up in arms over HER BOSS EMAILING HER and someone suggesting she go Christmas shopping, getting all "Sexism! REEEEE!" all while the male lead HAD HIS CHILD KEPT FROM HIM.

I always say, I don't even need to point out how ridiculous feminism is. The feminists do it themselves.

The one nice thing I will say about this book, the beachy theme and beachy setting in a cozy Christmas romance was a neat twist.

If the author would stay in her lane and keep the far-left politics out of her book, I think it would have been an enjoyable, cozy read.

With Almost a Bride and Caught by the Sheriff, Rula Sinara takes readers to Turtleback Beach, North Carolina, and the trip proves to be a delight. It is no surprise that romance has great potential to spark in this small town, yet secrets and second chances do their best to complicate matters. As the characters—Grayson Zale and Mandi Rivers in Almost a Bride, Carlos Ryker and Faye Donovan in Caught by the Sheriff—sort through the complications before them, the stories develop with great heart. Sweet, heartwarming, and just plain fun, Sinara’s Turtleback Beach are the perfect choice for the contemporary-romance reader right now.

I received complimentary copies of these books and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.
