Candace has to work around her phobia of crossing streets to serve as crossing guard at her daughter's school, and it's this very thing that puts Candace in the path of Royce: a firefighter who's determined never to date a single mother again.

They've both got some rethinking to do in Stopping Traffic by author Pat Simmons. I wasn't sure where this novella would take me beyond Candace's struggle with streets, and I was glad to see the story open up into much more.

Personally, I'm not much moved by muscly men in fiction just because they're muscly, but Royce is a hero who's about his business and isn't playing any games. Two thumbs up. Likewise, Candace's serious, "lioness" side coming through to protect her child is what I appreciated most about her character--that and one of her funny reactions to flying peppermints. The faith theme here includes a lot in the way of church sermons and Bible-verse quoting by the characters and such; some ChristFic readers like that, some find it overbearing in a story, but I expected it of this author.

Overall, I found this romance to be thoroughly enjoyable and would recommend it to other Christian Fiction fans who like quick reads with substance.

FREE FROM GUILT by Pat Simmons is an interesting inspirational women's fiction set in St. Louis,MO. #3 in the "Jamieson Legacy",but can be read as a stand alone,as I have not read the others and had no issue keeping up with the plot or the characters.

"The Jamieson Legacy series follows the lives of two brothers,Kidd and Ace, and their cousin Cameron as they are challenged to overcome their past and trust their futures to God".

"Free From Guilt" is the story of Cameron Jamieson, proud of his royal African tribe ancestor's legacy,a genealogy expert, and determined to not follow in some of his family beliefs in Christ. Enter Gabrielle Depree, who has a humble disposition and believes in Christ. A compelling story of faith, genealogy, and romance. With reappearing characters you will see the Jamieson cousins has grown in their faith, family and love. An interesting story! If you enjoy family trees, genealogy, romance and love, than "Free From Guilt" is a story for you. Written with details and engaging characters. Received for an honest review from the publisher and Wynn-Wynn Media,LLC.

I have read the other two books in this series and this one is just as good. You also don't have to read the other books to enjoy this one, but do yourself a favor and enjoy all of them.
The first book started with Cameron meeting the Jamison cousins in NY. With this book we are introduced to a lot more of the family...some distantly related and some half siblings.
This story is Cameron's and his desire to be with Gabrielle. She is attracted to Cameron, but she lets him know in no uncertain terms that for her "Jesus is the ONLY way".
Both come from such strong and loving families. You feel the pull that God has actually placed Gabrielle there to help bring Cameron to him. Satan doesn't like letting go, and puts people and worldly things in the way.
What a tremendous story Pat Simmons has written. I so enjoyed this book and felt the kinship with this family. Once I began my journey I could not put this book down, and finished in less than a day.

I received a copy of this book from the Author, and was not required to give a positive review.

A return visit with the Jamieson Family...and I didn't want it to end! This book focuses on Tailise and Aaron's "Ace" relationship.
When the book begins you feel that Tailie has it made with such a wonderful, caring guy...whoops! He hightails it and acts like a scumbag when she tells him she thinks she is pregnant.
I loved the people rallying around her...including Ace's family. If they were Amish they would have shunned him, and some of them did! Through out this book I could feel the hand and love of God.
We rejoin and spend time with some of the people we came to know in Guilty By Association, and they are quickly becoming old friends. I wanted to move in with them!!!
Once you pick up this book, you won't be able to put it down, and thank you Pat Simmons there is another book to be released later this year...Free From Guilt.

I received this book from Tywebbin Virtual Tours, and Moody Publishers, and was not required to give a positive review.
