I have a sort of affection for this movie simply because I watched it A Lot when I was too young to know any better. It is not good. Besides being a generally lazy production, it's also surprisingly racist for the 1980's (which is saying something).

The Death Dealer books are based on the famous fantasy painting, of the same name, by Frank Frazetta and written by Jim Silke who is also a fantastic artist. There have also been comic books created based on the Death Dealer. The 4 issue series written by Glenn Danzig and illustrated by Simon Bisley (issue 1), Liam Sharp (issues 2 and 3), and by Arthur Suydam (issue 4) has covers by Frank Frazetta himself. ALL of these are extremely good and a must have for fantasy lovers.

Surprising depth to what I thought was a quick knockoff. Good stuff here. I really want to get back to the series.
