Pretty decent zombie survival romance. Lots of action, a pretty well thought out plot, not too difficult on the willing suspension of disbelief front. Interesting characters and interesting zombie world building. I would definitely recommend this to lovers of zombie stories who like a bit of romance thrown into the mix of peril and survival.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) We have two geeky nerds who have evolved and are perfect for each other. We meet Meg as she goes on a search to who stole her idea, and while on this mission she meet Jack and I have to say I loved them. This was the first time that I have read from this author and I did enjoy the book, it was nice to read the romance building between Meg and Jack..Enjoy!

The description of the book calls it a "road-trip romance for the ages." There was a road trip, though that was only a small part of the book, and it had romance. It also had a male protagonist who came off as overbearing and controlling and totally skeeved me. I get it's the end of the world and there probably aren't many dudes left, but I really wanted Jack (the female protagonist) to dump him and find someone--anyone--else.

As far as "zombie" books go, this was average. Zombies getting smarter, scientists and doctors searching for a cure. Nothing bad, but nothing that stood out as exceptional or new.

There are a lot of zombie books out there and, in my opinion, this one didn't compare. As always, YMMV.

Financially desperate, overworked, tired heroine meets handsome, forceful Greek millionaire. Sparks fly and by the end of the book they're ready to ride off into the happy ending sunset.

Much of the story uses standard genre cliches, but Ms Shortt's meticulous development of the heroine's character and background was refreshingly original. The novella format doesn't give much room for characterisation. Working within this limitation, the author manages to create a believable, sympathetic heroine.

The copy of this book I bought from Evernight lists three other books by Ms Shortt. The quality and confidence of the writing suggests an experienced and skilful author with a larger backlist.

Yet another serendipitous find. I was led to this book by a good but not stellar review on a website. I'm not sure what it was about the blurb that caught my attention -- perhaps the mention that the heroine works in an expensive food store.
