It's a quote book but it's a great quote book esp if you have the cultural capital to know who is saying what. I haven't enjoyed a book so much in ages. It's a hit with quotes like:

"Today, you see girls doing on screen what they use to do off screen to get on screen" Gene Autry

"Merry Christmas to all my friends except two" W.C. Fields

"I'm controversial. My friends either dislike me or hate me" Oscar Levant

"The embarrassing thing is that the salad dressing is out-grossing my films" Paul Newman

It's a keeper for me and wouldn't you just love to know what Warner said when Reagan was elected?
