An extraordinary book. Told at first in a series of stills - illustrations telling a rollicking adventure, we move nearly 200 years, to have the story continue with the descendants of the original cast. I'll return to this review later, when the dust has had time to settle. But it was an impressive reading experience.

Gr 6 Up—Every spin of the kaleidoscope fragments one story while bringing another into focus with vignette-like
explorations of connection and loss. This illustrated collection combines abstract art and short stories as a variety of
characters meditate on grief and love.
