The subject of most of these essays is Troilus and Criseyde. Anyone who has read or is planning to read this wonderful long poem will benefit from reading these essays. They cover: the system of courtly love, destiny, chaucerian tragedy, christian love and morality among other things. It is an anthology of essays and so there are some widely different views by the different authors.
