L Schapiro

A very readable account of Turgenev's life. I don't read many biographies, so don't have much I can compare this book too, but, whilst very readable, certain sections felt like they could have done with more depth. Given that this book was written during the Cold War perhaps further research wasn't possible or very easy? Still, informative, and definitely interesting for any fan of this great author.
