Commune Of The Golden Sun By Miriam Sagan LTER MARCH 2024 em Reviews of Early Reviewers Books (Abril 4)

Resenhas

A quick and easy read, the book was a nice mix of a post-apocalyptic world pulled from current events, mystical and unexplainable happenings, and plain old-fashioned love.

When war engulfed America, the Commune of the Golden Sun shut their doors and began leading an isolationist life. Emi, one of the children of the commune, sets off with 3 of her nest mates in order to explore the outside world and to discover if the grownups have been lying.

At times psychedelic and trippy, this book features great storytelling. I wanted more. More of the characters, more of the world, and more adventures. Overall, highly recommended.

At first the book dragged a little, but the more chapters I read the more I could not put this book down. Each chapter is told by the perspective of the character that the chapter is named for and the date it occurs. This book could be the future that we are dreading. Rivers and water supplies drying up. Spotty electric service. A president who does not step down and becomes a dictator. A war on American soil to overthrow the oppressive government. The only parts of the book that I felt were not necessary and were really not cohesive was the plot about a person who left a part of herself behind as a spirit. All in all it was a very good read.… (mais)

The story is told in alternating chapters from different people. Each chapter starts with the name of said character and what I believe to be the year? I was uncertain at times of what was happening and did find the book (a bit) confusing.

Not (really) a bad story, I'm still trying to figure it all out. I did find it intriguing and compelling (enough) to want to finish. I will go back and re-read this story as I may enjoy it more then. Give it a try, you may find you like Commune Of The Golden Sun.… (mais)
