This was first published in 2003. Canterbury Press, ISBN 1-85311-257-7. It is a short 99 page book which, despite it short length, covers silent prayer rather thoroughly. It's a practical guide. One immediately gets the sense that Alexander Ryrie has been there or knows those who have plumbed greater depths in silent prayer. The book's content appears to be founded on experience and a wealth of resources that were apparently discovered and accumulated over a long time.
