Ugh this book was so frustrating to me - if people could just be honest with each other so much could have been avoided.
Obviously I will be reading the next installment. Also, I'm glad my father isn't a douche bag.

3.5 stars.

I loved the addition of Sid's POV, did wonders for her character development and the relationship with her mother and father was a highlight to the story.

Nirrim's POV fell flat for me, especially considering the dramatic stakes she was left in in book one. This time her story is one-dimensional in her focus on vengeance. Her reunion with Sid and the resolution to her drastic deal with the gods rang hollow and felt very rushed. And such a simple happy ending too, after Nirrim basically became a freaking war criminal... like, we're not gonna talk about that??

Glad I came for the Sid content, but this book needed about 200 more pages to feel more resolved.

I feel like there were too many characters, but I did like the story a lot!
