Love finding new authors and this also satisfied my current craving for paranormal romantic suspense. We’re immediately thrown into the psychic world as the book starts out with Sasha Bellwood witnessing a woman’s murder through the victims’ eyes. This is a new thing for Sasha as she usually only been able to see where lost items are. But the victim wants her retribution against the killer. Problem is Sasha wasn’t able to see his face.

Sasha best friend Linnie is a psychologist and since college has helped Sasha with her gift. Linne also has helped a retired homicide detective Reed McIntyre since he was almost fatally shot. He now works on cold cases and is stuck finding on a particular serial killer of women in the area that no one but him really thinks exist. When Lennie suggest he talk to Sasha no one could have known what all this would lead to.

This is a pretty fasted paced story with lots of secondary characters – including the ghosts of previous victims. If you’re good at figuring out who the killer is in these types of book you may have a pretty good guess as to whom it is early on but it doesn’t take anything away from the story and your high fiving when that retribution finally comes to him.

My wish would be this would become a series as I loved Sasha and Reed together and they could continue on solving other unsolved murders.

After reading this I have come to realize that I have issues with this type of story line. So take my 3 rating and review with a grain of salt. When the lead is a reporter for most of the book they are lying or conniving to get that story. Shelley Jackson finds the body of a friend who she briefly dated in an ally where he had asked her to meet him about evidence of corruption at a large company. For someone she should have care about all she was really interested in was finding on his dead body that evidence and then left him in that ally. Yes she called 911 but it was still a cold thing to do.

Jason Mallory is the dead man's step brother and feels guilt over his brother death as he was getting the information for him. Jason is a rich businessman who knows Shelly is keeping secrets about what happened to his brother. As these two eventually team up to find out who killed him a few more bodies pile up and they also start a sexual relationship.

Even though I had issues with Shelley's moral character she was a tough woman and I loved how she kept one upping a sleazy fellow reporter. The writing was good and the middle part of the book kept your interest but then we get to the ending. Shelly did a 180 and become a Scarlett O'Hara begging Jason to not leave her and vowed she would get him back. The switch from strong tenacious reporter to sniveling love struck woman was hard to swallow.

This was one pleasant ghost story. I’m still smiling from the antics of all the characters both living and dead. I found Cybil so easy to relate to and I am so jealous she got to buy and renovate that lovely house. She was such a true to life heroine dealing with her overbearing mother and clone sisters while trying to figure out her new feelings for Max. I believe she is someone I would definitely befriend. Max is just so solid, he could be any man and yet what makes him so special is that he’s the perfect man for Cybil. The fact he is so gun shy just makes him more authentic. The full cast of secondary characters are well developed and so entertaining. For all the trouble she caused her daughter, “Martha” was a hoot to read about. I don’t want to give away anything but I loved Cybil’s interactions with the ghosts as it had me giggling and sometimes laughing uncontrollably. The internal dialogue was witty and enjoyable yet a few of the comments made about a larger-sized woman came across as more mean-spirited rather than amusing. This was such a fun story and a must-read for those who fancy numerous chuckles along with their lingering kisses. This diverse author definitely earns a spot on my to be read list.
