I've read a number of biographies of De Vinne and find this a good one. If the reader is only to read one, I would probably recommend one which is more recent, the Tichenor book. De Vinne, it is written, was not so much a genius, but very devoted to printing. He was also the first president of the Grolier Club. I think that I would like to read more about Rollins. Volume Two reprints several short pieces penned by DeVinne.Concluding with his essay about Aldus.
A worthwhile read.Mr Rollins is not a fan, evidently, of Capitalism as it is expressed in the arts.
