Roads in the Wilderness: Conflict in Canyon Country de Jedediah S. Rogers
An interesting look at roads in southern Utah and the conflict w/ wilderness areas as managed by the BLM. Seriously, the BLM and the Mormon lifestyle have serious issues which are mostly brushed aside in this book in order to take a look at the two sides os the issue as represented by Edward Abbey and Calvin Black. Lots of attention to detail still does not excuse the superficial approach this author presents as he notes the conflict between environmentalist and business interests. Poking fun at either side by caricaturing the two fall guys is silly nand simplistic as well. Good book, but not as good as I had hoped it would be.… (mais)
