A gripping story about an idealistic young American who stays in China after the Chinese Communist Party wins control of the country. He is imprisoned twice by those he worships and gives details of his relationship with several top leaders of the C.C.P. I found the description of his thought patterns throughout his experiences in China, including his incarcerations, to be most interesting.

This is a book about an American that left the military and stayed in China to become a communist. It was a very interesting story -- I was very curious as to how he could do this. When all is said and done he lost his health, 16 years in prison and eventually ends upback in the states. A good read. This one I would recommend.
