A book full of reflections for both children and adults, making us appreciate what we have every day, where to sleep, what we eat and what we wear, teaching us to be generous and grateful. The same showing that no matter where the family is, if they are together or apart, they are still a family. A little girl living on the street tells the story of her family, how her father has to be separated from her, her mother and her doll, but even so they remain a united family.

We follow a little girl and her parents as they struggle with having to live in two separate shelters (women & children/men), look for jobs, and stand in long lines to have meals. They meet at parks to play and to celebrate holidays and birthdays. The little girl's shoes are too tight and she misses her bedroom and all the comforts that they had to leave behind.

In the point of view from a little girl, she describes homelessness. She understands that her family have to make sacrifices to be a family. No matter what to her, they still hold that title. Homelessness is everywhere throughout the country. It affects many lives especially children. This book is really good to raise awareness.
