This book was a LibraryThing Early Reviewers giveaway. I got half way through this book but had to abandon it because the foul language was just too much for me to bear. From what I read up until that point it was about Charles Ramsey's life before his "fame" and how his life was affected after his instant celebrity. He was brutally honest about his bad behavior growing up, and also spoke candidly about the bad choices he made as an adult. One thing I took away from this book was the media's relentless tactics and how they will stop at nothing for a good story. Charles Ramsey was shuffled around from interview to interview often without food or rest in between, all for a story. I can't say this book was for me because I could never recommend it to any of my peers, but if you don't mind a book full of the f-bomb, and about an ordinary man speaking honestly about his life, as raw as it might have been, you might like it.… (mais)

Wow!!! This is not a typical biography. This is a amazing story of Charles Ramsey's life. He is truthful, honest, funny, controversial, repetitive, annoying and a great story teller. Kudos to co author Randy Nyerges for bringing his story to paper.

Mr. Ramsey did not pull any punches about his checkered past, his beliefs, his dysfunctional family situation, domestic violence or his own prejudices. I appreciate that he chose to get involved in a situation which could have proved to be very dangerous, had Ariel Castro shown up when Ramsey was helping the captive girls escape. Many would have chosen not to be involved.… (mais)

What can be said? It is what it is. This book is exactly what you expect it to be. He is crude, he is outrageous, he is also very funny and knows exactly who he is. Who wouldn't grab their five minutes of fame when they can? Not super enlightening, but very entertaining.
