The life-story of an extremely energetic man who turns 105 years old this July (2010). When WW1 broke out he was 9 years old - 34 when WW2 darkened the face of the earth. Even several years before Hitler returned in force for a "friendly" take-over of his homeland Austria, Engleitner was discriminated for his religious beliefs. With the Nazis taking control of of Austria discrimination quickly turned into persecution, and persecution into execution of male Jehovah's Witnesses refusing military service. Due to his unbroken will and faith, Engleitner survived 3 kz-camps as well as death squads hunting him for his stand.

Almost 90% of all conscientious objectors in Nazi-Germany were JW, 331 of them sentenced to death for this, of whom around 270 very actually executed - many by decapitation. Engleitner survived, but it took 50 years before anybody showed any special interest in his remarkable story... but you will certainly do when you read this very well written book.
