Savannah’s fiancée had just broken up with her after she told him she had Lupus, and she knew going to visit her Aunt Eleanor was sure to be helpful.

The characters are lovely, and the storyline is every book lover’s dream.

The reader will also love all the book quotes at the beginning of each chapter and that adorable, gorgeous cover.

I wanted one more Christmas read to finish out the month. Honestly, I’m kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to get to this one. I’ll admit that it starts off kind of slow and Diana is almost insufferable in her inability to relate to the people she loves. However, as you can expect it’s totally needed for the story to work. Diana is very much in love with Linus but she’s holding back on picking a wedding date, blaming it on being focused on a promotion at work. However, even though she won’t admit it more lies behind her decision to not set a date yet.
As you can imagine in typical Christmas cheesy Hallmark-y fashion a series of events go wrong on the day Linus has his accident. It’s a day that spirals out of Diana’s control and then after a few weeks, it becomes a day that she has to live over and over again. One can imagine the sole goal is to save Linus no matter the cost. However, she still also has to address all the other tasks of that day. Each day she does things a little differently in how she interacts with the people in her life.
And boy these repeat days do not disappoint. Each one becomes more intense and the shifts and changes that happen in Diana are gradual. However, you can see her change some. I think for me I was a little annoyed at how it felt like she didn’t change enough. We see her begin to let down her walls for sure but I felt like the big self revelation was rushed. However it was nice to see her change. I enjoyed the fourth repeated day the best!
I think the only other issue I had with this one was that the plot points are conveniently mentioned to allow for things which previously were said couldn’t happen. I also felt like some major plot points needed to be explained that weren’t. Yet overall this is a sad and moving Christmas story. It’s not what I anticipated at all. It may have made me cry once or twice. It’s one that everyone should consider for the holiday season.… (mais)
