There were parts of this story that were really good and others that I struggled with. It was hard at times to know who was saying or doing what. That would have been easily fixed with stating the point of view or person talking at the start of the chapter.

I wouldn't call this a romance either, but I got the impression it was heading into either a love triangle or a ménage between Gaia, Raoul, and Dominique. I really wanted to like this book as the book had a lot of potential but it was hard for me to connect with the characters as well as the actual fluidity of the story and the way that the background was presented.

I applaud this author though for her hard work and dedication to pursuing her passion. She can and is doing something I never could in a million years. My review is just my opinion and is not intended to be malicious.

Many thanks to Jennifer Rayes for graciously providing me with a copy of her novel. I do love mystery and thrillers, and it did have quite a bit of action and adventure too!

Pros: The cover art....wow! Nice job!
Character development: Great. The amnesia bit is said to be an "old trick" in the publishing/literary world, but I like her approach to it.
Plot: This is where I think things get a little complicated. There's so much going on: child trafficking, illegal drug activity, spies, kidnapping, the amnesia/flashbacks, etc.
Short Chapters: Excellent idea! For those of us who lead such busy lives, we appreciate the short chapters. It also allows for a good transition in a novel.

Cons:
I really do not care for the foul language. There is a truckload of it. Yes, I'm aware the everyone seems to talk this way, but not everyone likes to hear it/read it. There are other ways of expressing your anger, frustration, sarcasm, etc.

All in all, I think the series has potential. Jennifer Rayes certainly has a wealth of talent in her writing. But due to the excessive language, I'm not likely to continue the series. I can see how this would appeal to a lot of other readers though.
