Brendon is ready to make a change in his life. As an overweight gay man in San Francisco, he feels he can't find happiness unless he gets himself a hard, hot body. So he goes online and connects with Jared, a model and aspiring personal trainer living in Los Angeles. Jared is willing to coach Brendon from a distance for free, as he's working to build a clientele and have success stories to share. Brendon agrees to join up, and he quickly finds himself falling for his straight trainer. When the two finally meet up in person, there's a tension and possibly a spark...and it might mean both men's lives are about to change in ways they didn't ever expect.
The premise of this book bothered me from the very beginning. Brendon doesn't want to lose weight to be healthier. He wants to lose weight so he can be "hot" because he can't get a man otherwise. Not a good way to start. And the transition for Jared was rocky and honestly hard to believe at times. I would give this one star, but the writing overall is decent and there is some solid character development despite the fundamental flaws I find in the premise and execution.… (mais)
