Paterson is called out to the latest crime scene - a man burnt alive at an stake. It is soon determined that he is one Davey Caine, only son of criminal mastermind William ‘Billy’ Caine. Not before long a retaliation killing takes place. This is just the start of Paterson and Clocks introduction into the London underworld.
This is the third in the series and have read them all. Certainly an action book, not the usual type for me to read but I still enjoyed the story but wonder where the characters are going next.

After being cleared of killing a suspect Detective Superintendent Ray Paterson is back on the job. His first investigation involves the shooting of a man by a sniper. But this is only the begining. Horrendous events will be uncovered.
Because of the subject not a particularly enjoyable read but an interesting one. It certainly kept my interest right to the end. I did enjoy the interactions between the main characters though and look forward to the next in the series.

Detective Superintendent Ray Paterson, a man on the fast track to promotion but not because of his investigative expertise, is brought in to lead the team. His lack of experience in leading a murder inquiry is evident and he is heavily reliant on his officers.
An interesting story, but I did find the crude language (which I hate) distracted from the story.
