I actually read this book in its entirety on a trans-Atlantic flight. I enjoyed it. Elizabeth Page is a talented pastry chef at a high-end restaurant in LA, trying desperately to distance herself from her longtime famous author father while still staying close to her newly famous author brother and dealing with unresolved feelings for her never-there war correspondent sorta-boyfriend when one day she meets a man who throws her all preconceived notions out the window. I appreciated the realistic and complicated characters, as well as the messy but ultimately mature relationships. Recommended.… (mais)

I was just kind of wishing the whole story would move along a little faster but of course we had to get each of the three sisters AND all of her relationships worked out, to say nothing of the person behind everything....the mother. Some of the potentially interesting kitchen staff got left behind in the process. Is the author possibly considering a sequel to see what happebns??

I'll start by saying I read this book in a single day. Its been a long time since a book keept me up long past my bedtime!

I suppose this is chick-lit but it seems to have slightly more going on than most in that genre. I found some of the characters to be irritating because they were such caricatures but the main character was well drawn. She is, sadly, a lot like me!

Decent plot, some sections of nice writing, pleasant romantic hero. Overall, pretty good.

I appreciate the amount of M&Ms consumed in this novel. This was fine, but I got another book in at 70% and managed to promptly forget about this completely. I just never quite connected with Joan, and even though the tech takedown happened, her career and success was the focus of the story. I enjoyed hearing more about journalism and what it takes to be at the cutting edge there, but overall, found this rather forgettable.
