Great snarky humor and fun. Have to admire an author who names his main characters just so he can write a "who's on first" type scene in his novel. (Madison--I'm crossing Park, where's Lexington? She's headed towards Madison on Park, etc.) good stuff for a series.

Can anger and rage be changed to peace and forgiveness?

After watching her brother shot by a cop in the street, Luz Cordero turns to gangs and violent protests to deal with her rage. Her brother is dead and her mother is in jail and Luz is angry at the world. Now Luz is living at the St. Therese Home for Boys and Girls and trying to pull herself together.

Luz presents her story in journal form as she flashes back to her brother's death and her life as a gang member and protester. Protesting police brutality helped Luz for awhile until things got out of hand and she found herself on probation and sent to live with Sister Ellen. St. Therese's Home for Boys and Girls is home to Luz and several other residents, all with their own history of violence. The hope is that working together in group therapy sessions they can overcome their experiences and learn to live with their less-than-perfect lives.

Things seem to be improving for Luz until one day she finds herself face-to-face with the young cop who shot her brother. The rage returns and Luz feels compelled to right the wrong of her brother's death. To her surprise, she finds that Officer Mickey Pesaturo is struggling with his own demons. Never having used his gun, he is dealing with the guilt of having taken a life, even though it was in the line of duty.

Pagliarulo helps the reader see Luz's courage and determination to remember her brother and yet forgive the ugliness of the crime. This book will not disappoint.

Being a celebutante isn't all it's cracked up to be. Sure, you get to live a very rich lifestyle with all the cool parties, nice clothes, hot dates, and special privileges. But being a suspect in a murder trial does not make being a celebutante worth it.

Triplets Madison, Park, and Lexington Hamilton know this firsthand, and wearing a tight dress with the perfect pumps just won't get them out of this one.

A murder has happened at one of the many social events that Madison has organized -- and it isn't very pretty. Well, the scarf tied around fashion editor Zahra Bell isn't, that is. Along with Zahra, the Avenue Diamond, the most prized possession that can work miracles, is gone. Unfortunately, the Hamilton triplets were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Who knew that being discovered in the same closet as the murder victim would automatically make you a suspect?

And now, since the police are taking forever to find who the killer is, it's up to the Hamilton triplets to save the day, and their name. There is just one drawback to this investigation. Let's just say that Zahra Bell wasn't the most well-liked person on the universe and anyone could have wanted her dead. And having tons of secrets spilling out that hurts reputations doesn't exactly make things progress faster. But the sisters can't worry about that too much, since their entire wardrobe is on the line, and being the next victim is becoming more and more of a possibility.

Take three Nancy Drews and put them into a GOSSIP GIRL situation and what successfully comes out is THE CELEBUTANTES: ON THE AVENUE. Antonio Pagliarulo makes us see that the rich and famous can solve mysteries, too, except in style. With a bond like the Charmed sisters, the Hamilton triplets are literature's newest "It Girls." THE CELEBUTANTES is the series that everyone should keep an eye on.

The Hamilton sisters are back. They thought their murder mystery days were over. That is, until one of their classmates dies at one of their parties at their own club. It's up to them to solve the murder before another classmate gets the ax. But can they solve this dilemma when they have their own problems to worry about?

Madison just can't believe what has happened and is torn apart. After she had promised Mother Margaret that nothing wild would happen at their party, one of her classmates gets murdered. But its not just any classmate -- it's the one guy that she was beginning to like. Finding out who the murderer is, is the most important thing for Madison right now.

A director sees the perfect actress in Park; her boyfriend does, too. But Park just can't find it in herself to be this actress that everyone supposedly sees. Park just wants to get her act together, because her acting debut is one of the biggest movie productions yet, and she stars opposite her boyfriend.

Lex needs to make sure that none of her friends go down the social ladder and that her family name isn't ruined. She was able to save it the first time; Lex just needs to stay out of trouble to save their name one more time.

With their perfection and a little sass, the Hamilton sisters are on the case.

With even more suspense, action, and style, the second novel in THE CELEBUTANTES series does not disappoint. Antonio Pagliarulo makes these crime-solving sisters even more lovable.
