This was a nice read but there was something that held it back from more stars for me. Maybe I thought the heroine was just too dumb and yet at the same time hard headed. She got taken by the ex and was just to embarrassed to go after him even to get her stuff back let alone 5 million dollars? The hero while sweet was a little unbelievably sweet. I enjoyed that the author wrote him as speaking in rhythm which showed he was a native French speaker. I wondered though if after living in the US since he was 11, would that be realistic? Most people who learn a language young become fully fluent and don't retain speech patterns from a childhood language. That could have been fixed with just a small change to his backstory about where he had been fostered.

Still it was a pleasant read and flowed smoothly. I like this author's style on the whole.

How can some authors write contemporary romance and make it sing and others only make it banal and mundane? This novel is of the first sort. I am trying to figure out what made me madly turn the pages of this book desperate to find out how the hero and heroine were going to get to their happy ever after.

The heroine was well rounded and well written. She had made a mistake as a teenager that ruined the hero's life and she was still dealing with it 13 years later. She had loved him all this time but he would not forgive her.

There was just enough pathos and angst to jerk your heartstrings a bit but it was not OTT melodramatic and purple prosy. The hero and the heroine definitely had a sizzling amount of heat going on as they meet again 13 years later.

The plotting was pretty tight and believable and there were some wonderful secondary characters.

Well sign me up for the rest of the series.

Hyacinth has big plans. She owns a bridal shop in her small town. But, she wants to expand into wedding dress design. So, she must get on the show Dressed in White. She needs a famous celebrity to help worm her way onto the show. When Robbie McTavish, NHL player, walks into her shop with an ice cream cone and ruins a dress, she is livid. She doesn’t make the best impression, but then again, neither does Robbie. So, needless to say, the budding romance does not get off to the best of starts.

Being the southern girl I am…I am shocked that I have missed this team of authors. They nailed the southern culture and charm. When they talked about the egg bowl and McCarty pottery, I knew they were the real deal!

This is a charming romance with all the twists and turns. The fights, the joys and the funny quips are not to be missed! Add in these wonderful characters and the lovely southern town and you have a novel everyone will want to enjoy! NAILED IT!

The narrator, Courtney Patterson, did a wonderful job. Now, I was a bit worried at the beginning. Robbie is Scottish. But, she handled his accent like a pro, in my opinion. I have not heard too many Scottish accents in my day, but Courtney seems to have mastered it!

Need a good southern romance…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today!

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

Oh SNAP! This book was great. I am a huge hockey fan myself so this is like whoa... I have totally had this dream before. I go the AHL hockey games at the arena near my house and it's only a couple miles away. So if you are into romance books and you know a decent amount about hockey this is 100% for you. If you like to read about some very flexible men, this is a must read.

Amy used to own her own business where she would organize things for people. It was just about anything and her skills were getting known by word of mouth. It got to the point she had some high-end clientele and she received an offer to sell her business. Her boyfriend Cameron who was a failed pro football guy turned sports agent, convinced her that this would be an amazing opportunity and she made a few million. Well, maybe a couple more than a few. Cameron is a slime ball and abandons her in a town, takes her car, belongings, and her money. She is left alone with no phone and only the clothes on her back and the $85 in her wallet.

That's how Emile meets her. Emile is a goalie in the NHL for the Nashville Sound. (FYI - My personal favorite player is a goalie. He was smoking hot and I'm sad he isn't on my team anymore. It's all about those pre-game warm-up stretches) Anyways... Emile has a heart of gold and a troubled past. So he sees Amy in trouble and does everything he can to help. His past doesn't hinder him like some predictable male leads in a book. Nope, he has moved on from his past traumas and grown as a person. I love that aspect of his character. The only problem is Amy doesn't want to have Emile hand everything to her because that is how Cameron made off with her money.

I have read a couple sports romance and one of my favorite author's to read was Jaci Burton. So if you like those books this is definitely up your alley. All in all, I sat her with a goofy school girl smile at the end. This felt like the real true love between the characters, and no cheesy lines with an instant *snap* head over heels. The characters develop and you grow with the story.
